New Texas Law Requires Homestead Exemption Review/Renewal!

Don't Lose Your Exemption

Starting in 2024 all Texas Appraisal Districts are required to review all property exemptions at least Once every 5 years. It is up to each county's district to decide how they will do this. In Tarrant County, they are sending notices in the mail with an application to renew your exemptions. If you miss this mail piece or fail to reply before the end of the year you may lose your exemptions. As of right now in Tarrant the only way to determine if your property is up for review is if you get the notice in the mail or actually call the District and have them look you up. Hopefully, they will add an online option but for now, they don't have it. Here is a link to a list of all the county appraisal districts and their contact info.
